Roger Federer’s Outfit for Wimbledon 2012

Here’s Roger’s outfit for this years Wimbledon. Of course it’s plain white following Wimbledon tradition and comes complete with green detailing. Nike have also added the Wimbledon purple colour onto the collar in the form of a stripe.

It’s hard to go wrong with such a plain polo and on first glance it looks as classy as ever, a decent 4 button collar and the usual RF branded logo to match the Wimbledon purple from the collar.

The only thing I’m not sure I like is the “court green” colour they have used, it’s hard to tell from the pictures alone but from what I can tell I think I prefer the green from last year

According to the manufacturer description it has several “modern performance benefits” and of course I have no idea what these are. For instance I’d love to know what a “Heat transfer Swoosh logo” is and actually does. I sometimes wonder what would have happened if someone like Bjorn Borg had access to these state of the art polos in his hay day – he’d have probably won like 50 slams and been at least 0.5 a degree cooler on court??

About Jonathan

Huge fan of Roger Federer - I'll pretty much try and watch all his matches from Grand Slam level right down to ATP 250. When I'm not watching or tweeting about tennis I play regularly myself and use this blog to share my thoughts on Fed and tennis in general.

    Absolutely awesome !
pure and simple as usual from RF

    • Yeah never goes wrong with his outfits, just hope his result as Wimbledon mirrors his clothing!

Does anyone know when Roger’s Olympic polo come out? And if it will be available to the general public? And where to look for it? Any help will be really appreciated.

      • Not sure, I will keep my eyes peeled and post it here when I know. I wonder if it will be White like a Wimbledon one? Or the Swiss Red colour?

  2. I prefer white+gold but this will look good, especially with the shoes!

    • Yeah me too, but can he wear white and gold at Wimbledon when he hasn’t won their since 2009? It was kinda like to signify his dominance I thought so green is the next best I guess.

  3. I don’t really like the bright yellow/green on his trainers. We all know most bright colours do not look classy on the Swiss Maestro.

    • Yeah kinda see what you mean, they are abit Nadal like. They’d look better without the high vis yellow I think.

Perhaps it’s a clever design to distract his opponents ;)

  4. Great post!

Like you, I just started a tennis blog myself, and I would like to have to advice from you guys! :)
So would you please take a look at http://courtlinenews.wordpress.com/ and tell me your feedback!

    Thank you! :)

  5. Thanks a bunch! I appreciate your help! :)

  6. What’s your take on Rafa’s win? Its incredible how he can dominate a surface! But it is too quick to call him the GOAT. Roger has shown consistency on all surfaces by winning slams on all different surfaces (6 Wimbledon, 5 US, 4 Aussi, 1 Roland Garros). In fact if it weren’t for Rafa, Roger would have 4-5 Roland Garros titles! Even if Rafa surpasses Roger’s GS record, what’s it going to be : 18 Majors(11 Roland Garros, 4 Wimbledon, 2 US and 1 Aussi)?

  7. In fact, Uncle Toni said Nadal is unlucky to be playing in the Federer era! He said that Rafa would be more stellar if there were no Roger: sportsillustrated.cnn.com/tennis/news/20120611/golden-era-of-tennis/

It’s simply Uncle Toni’s false modesty, and he grooms Nadal the same way (Nadal’s book mentions how Toni controls his otherwise aggressive and unsporting nature). In other words, if Nadal does get back again to No.1, it would mean he achieved it in the Roger-Djoker era, which would make it look even more incredible. I think Nadal is the most overrated among 10 time slam winners.

  8. Roger is just the greatest of all times. He has it all, talent, composure and is the most likeable tennis player ever.
